This is a ghost kitchen, meaning there's a lot of different food vendors all operating out of one kitchen. I didn't realize that when I decided to eat here with a few friends. We got pork Kao pao, beef yellow curry, beef pad see ew, a side of fried egg, and Thai tea. The heat level is adjustable for all of the dishes. We got mild for all of them because some people didn't want spicy . Everything was very delicious and tasty. The portions were good, especially given the price. I wish it were a little easier to share given that Thai food is usually a more communal eating experience. The Thai tea was okay but not great. It's a little grainy for my taste. The service was relatively quick but you're not really talking to people. You order on a screen and there's an emphasis on delivery. I recommend getting this via food delivery service as this isn't the most welcoming, clean, or comfortable eating space. You eat outside in a cramped area and the back table has a near broken bench. If you're a wheelchair user, there's nowhere to easily sit and eat in community as the tiny alley way is already cramped. Great as leftovers! (Sorry my picture is from my leftovers because I got too excited and started eating). I think this place is good for what it is, a ghost kitchen. But it's definitely not a place where you go if you want a restaurant experience.
The best Thai on the west side! I still firmly think Otus is the best thai place in all of LA but if you can't and don't want to drive that far Muy Thai will 100% hit your thai craving. Excellent noodles with fresh vegetables and egg that melts in your mouth. Taking off a star since parking and ambiance is a smidge strange if you're expecting a normal restaurant. This is a ghost kitchen for postmates set up so you're ordering on robot computers inside and then getting your meal already packaged like it's going to go on Uber Eats. You are your own service.
Muy Thai is part of The Colony, collection of restaurants with focus on pick-up and food app delivery. The Colony rotates through different BOGO deals and I was able to get two bowls for the price of one. Street parking or paid lot on Butler. For the food: Pork Kra Pao is tasty and fragrant with the classic Thai basil flavor. The spice level is customizable from No Spice to Muy Spicy. The dish was a bit too salty for me, so the 2nd bowl was turned into fried rice. Add Thai Tea - it's sweet, strong and a nice way to round out the meal.
It's always feels a little sketch when you order Thai food in West LA unless you are at one of the well-known establishments. I was looking for a quick meal so decided with Muy Thai at the Colony. I got the Chicken Kra Pow and I was pleasantly surprised. I came in with some low expectations and also coming from a ghost kitchen but the flavor actually packed a pretty authentic punch. The basil and thai spices were there, the chicken was moist and tender, and it had a bit of kick from the chilis! The flavoring was a bit sweet for my liking even though Thai food usually has a bit of sweetness in it. Also, the portions were pretty solid! I expected so much less but it was a hefty portion. The other reviews are real and I'd recommend Muy Thai for a pretty solid meal.
Love this spot as it has very authentic kra pao! It food is flavorful and spicy just how I like it. The Thai tea is also delicious and refreshing! I've ordered this Togo on delivery apps and they usually have a deal or promotion going on. I think this spot if very worth it and can't get this quality of food anywhere else!
Ordered the beef kra pao to go. Beef was seasoned well. I wish the egg was cooked just a tad bit more. Be careful when choosing your spice level, because when they say spicy, they mean it! Thai tea on the side was good, but not great compared to others I've had. Would come back here again.
Ordered from this place last night and will definitely be ordering again. Very fresh tasting Thai food and good size portions. Their prices are unbeatable (especially if your delivery service has a special). We got the Pad See Ew and the Chicken Kra Prao - both were so tasty. Can't wait to try their other items. We also got the Thai iced tea, which was also really nice. **SPICY WARNING (even the mild has a good kick to it). The Thai iced tea helped balance out the spiciness.
I ordered delivery because UberEats had BOGO promotion and it was really good! I got the chicken red curry and pork kra pao and really loved both of them. The portion was pretty good and both dishes were delicious even reheated since I had some the next day. The price was also affordable I'm already looking forward to my next order here!
Muy Thai in Sawtelle knows what's up! So I've been to Thailand numerous times and the food at Muy Thai is delicious and authentic. The prices are also very reasonable with great portion sizes. I went with a friend to the grand opening and the wait was wild and crazy. We got there at 11:30 a.m. and they had such phenomenal promotions, basically, the first few guests were treated with free Thai tea and some swag, I even got a t-shirt! My buddy and I ordered their most popular items, the pad kra pow beef for $12.49 and chicken for $9.99. It was quite spicy ahahah. It was good! But a bit spicy ahaha, so be prepared for the heat, of course, you can ask for it to be more mild or no spice. Muy Thai is part of the Colony, which is a ghost kitchen with many different vendors like Goop Kitchen, Main Chick Hot Chicken, and Percolate tea, coffee, and boba. There's plenty of free parking around the area in the residential neighborhood, just be sure to read the signs!
If you're looking for a new, affordable and authentic Thai restaurant in West LA, you definitely have to CURRY up and THAI out @eatmuythai at the @colony_la . Make sure to check out the grand opening 5/6 at 12 PM for: free pad kra pao for the first 100 guests BOGO any item for the next 100 guests 25% off all day all day raffle to win Apple AirPods Max, a 55' Smart TV, or Apple Watch 25% off voucher free swag and Thai tea My recommendations: Shrimp pad thai ($8.99): one of my favorite dishes! I loved how the noodles had a slightly sweet, tangy flavor, although the shrimps were a bit small. Beef pad see ew ($8.99): impressed with the authenticity and incredible quality of the beef, but I did find it a bit too savory after a few bites Chicken red curry ($11.99): this was super creamy and flavorful, and I would highly recommend! Shrimp kra pao ($13.49): this was so unique and delicious, but I would recommend keeping the spice level at mild (and this is from someone with a VERY HIGH spice tolerance) Mango sticky rice ($4.99): this was so good! Came out fresh and warm Thai tea ($3.99): this is a must get in my book! Definitely one of the best and most creamy/fragrant Thai milk teas I've tried. Service was a bit slow, but I understand that they're still a new restaurant and working out kinks. I also really appreciated how the employees came out to check on us and brought the food out to the outdoor seating area (although I wished had a bit more coverage due to the hot sun). I also love the restaurants available at the Colony, and I would highly recommend mixing and matching in your order!
